A dental operatory, a dialysis floor and a tattoo studio all generate regulated waste, and almost nothing else about them is the same. Find your facility below and the page tells you what it produces, which rule reaches it and whether pickup or mail-back is the cheaper answer.
Tell us about your facility and the Mobile office will call you back.
No long-term contracts
You stay because the pickups happen, not because a contract says so.
No hidden fees
Mail-back has no minimum purchase and no fuel surcharge either.
Local pickup
South Alabama, South Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle.
Mail-back anywhere
Prepaid return boxes to all 50 states, for offices that make very little.
Why the building matters
The container plan follows the work
Two facilities of the same size can need completely different services. An acupuncture clinic fills a one quart container over months. A dialysis floor fills a large one in a shift. The difference is not square footage, it is what happens in the rooms.
So we start from the work: which procedures run, how often, and where the waste is first held. That decides the container, the placement and the interval, and it usually decides whether you want a truck at all. Under roughly 50 lbs a month, mail-back is normally cheaper and simpler than scheduled pickup.
What you generate The streams your procedures actually produce, not a generic list.
Where it is held Point-of-use containers beat a single bin in a corridor, every time.
Which rule reaches it OSHA covers your staff. Your state covers the waste. Some streams sit with neither.
How it leaves A truck on a schedule, or a prepaid box. We will tell you which one fits.

Forty of them, on eight shelves. Pick the one closest to yours and the page tells you what that building generates, which rule applies and whether pickup or mail-back fits.
Hospitals and acute care
Multiple waste streams, several departments and an inspector who will ask for the paperwork.
It comes down to how much you make. Steady volume suits a truck on a schedule. An office that fills a few containers a month can skip the truck and mail them back.
Scheduled pickup
For clinics, practices and facilities with steady volume
Containers and bags supplied for each waste stream
Routine or flexible pickups, adjusted when your volume changes
Collected by trained, experienced personnel
Waste manifest and proof of legal destruction every time
Local across South Alabama, South Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle, from our Mobile, AL office
Everything runs out of Mobile. Local pickup covers South Alabama, South Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle, and anywhere else in the country, mail-back does the job.
Physicians, dentists, clinics, vets, funeral homes and tattoo studios are the six the service was set up for in 2010. The forty facility types above are where that work has gone since.
Does my type of business count as a medical waste generator?
If your work produces needles, blades or material soaked in blood or other potentially infectious material, yes, whatever the sign on the door says. Tattoo studios, med spas, funeral homes, vets and school nurse offices are all on the list for that reason.
How do I know whether to choose pickup or mail-back?
Roughly 50 lbs a month is the dividing line. Below it, mail-back is usually cheaper and simpler, with no contract and no minimum purchase. Above it, a truck on a schedule wins. Each facility page says which one usually fits.
Is there anything BioMed will not collect?
Yes, and the facility pages say so where it matters: chemotherapy and cytotoxic waste, pathological and anatomical waste, chemical waste such as embalming fluid, radioactive waste, and controlled substances, which are destroyed through a DEA-registered route.
My facility type is not listed. Can you still help?
Almost certainly. The forty pages cover the facilities we are asked about most, not the limit of the service. Call (251) 300-6143 and describe the work.
Do you serve facilities outside Alabama and Florida?
